SQL Server Mentoring – what we offer

At Stedman Solutions we work with our clients a variety of different consulting agreements from fixed price projects to ongoing hourly work.

One of the smaller offerings that we have is for what we call our mentoring packages. The mentoring works like this.

• Client prepays for a block of hours, usually 4 to 6 hours up front.
• Client sends requests for mentoring help.
• We then reply with a solution, or we can jump on a webex session to help solve the problem.
• Client is billed for the time used in 15 minute increments.
• When the time is almost used up the client has the option to extend the mentoring package for another 4 to 6 hours.

Typically a 4 hour block of mentoring is used in 8 to 12 different questions and saves far more time than the 4 hours paid for.

What I like about the mentoring offering is that we can help the DBA’s out there who done need help very often.
