24 hours after posting the Corruption Challenge, 4 people have successfully solved it. However 4 have also asked me for additional clues. I don’t want to give away too many clues so I am going to start with just 2. After another 24 hours if additional clues are necessary, I will post additional clues.
First Clues: Posted at 8:35am (pacific time) on May 13, 2015.
- There were transaction log backups taken after the full backup, however they were for the purpose of this challenge lost. Time spent on the tail of the log won’t help with this challenge.
- There are 2 pages in this database that are corrupt, and they require different solutions to fix each of them.
- Did you notice the three files associated with the database, the mdf, ndf, and log.
- One of the page is page 1:9 the database boot page.
That’s it for now. I will post more clues tomorrow if they are needed. I hope this helps.
